Are you looking for a new challenge? Do you have experience in women's health, contraception or sexual health? Come and join our small supportive team at NISHH.
This B6 nursing role is within the Northamptonshire Integrated Sexual Health and HIV Service (NISHH). As such it covers three aspects of this fully integrated service, namely, Genitourinary Medicine (GU), HIV Medicine and Contraceptive and Reproductive Health (CRH). The post is to predominantly support the GU service however, the post may also include support for the CRH and HIV specialties.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, clinically orientated nurse to join an experienced multidisciplinary team. The post will be primarily based at the NISHH clinic at Northampton General Hospital in Northampton. Clinics run Monday to Saturday, one 8pm finish a week. Full time hours required. NISHH is a county-wide service and the post-holder may be asked to deliver services in other NISHH settings. Travel expenses will be included when travelling to a different site than the assigned main base which is the Northampton hub., + Undertake your own clinic list.
+ Taking a sexual history of male and female symptomatic patients, including examinations, diagnostics and management planning.
+ Give advice and provide asymptomatic and symptomatic STI testing to promote good sexual health.
+ Microscopy
+ Work according to BASHH guidelines.
+ Work according to national PGD criteria, and work towards non-medical prescribing.
+ Provide health education.
+ Assess under 16 year old clients according to Fraser competency guidelines.
+ Assess wellbeing and safe behaviours in under 18's and vulnerable adults and make safeguarding referrals as necessary.
+ Refer clients to other parts of the service as required.
+ Support and manage junior staff., Applications will be transferred to the TRAC system, by completing an application you are giving authorisation for the transfer of your data. Including factual reference, occupational health clearance and statutory and mandatory training records
