Full Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for configuring and managing systems for alerting, monitoring, and patching, as well as leading the technical aspects of NOC operations.,

  • NOC Tool Development and Management:
  • Design, implement, and optimise NOC tools for effective alerting, monitoring, and patching.
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies to enhance NOC capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools for monitoring system performance and health.
  • Technical Leadership and Escalation:
  • Serve as a senior technical resource and escalation point for complex NOC issues.
  • Provide guidance and technical expertise to the NOC team.
  • Lead root cause analysis for recurring incidents and implement solutions to prevent future occurrences.
  • System Configuration and Monitoring:
  • Configure systems for effective alerting and monitoring of client networks.
  • Implement and manage patching schedules and procedures to ensure systems are up-to-date and secure.
  • Ensure the reliability and efficiency of monitoring systems.
  • Resource Management and Mentorship:
  • Mentor and support NOC team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
  • Assist in managing and allocating NOC resources to ensure optimal coverage and efficiency.
  • Client Communication and Support:
  • Act as a point of contact for clients regarding NOC-related technical issues and updates.
  • Provide regular status reports and updates to clients on system performance and incidents.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction through effective communication and problem resolution.

    Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in network operations, with at least 2 years in a senior technical or lead role.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure, protocols, and technologies.
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools e.g. Connectwise Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds.
  • Knowledge of patch management processes and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and mentorship abilities.
  • DESIRABLE SKILLS / CERTIFICATIONS
  • Experience with cloud environments and tools (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and tools.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, ITIL)., The ideal candidate will come from an IT MSP or NOC function that supports external clients, and 2-3 years experience working within a NOC environment.
