Full Job Description

Refer and signpost service users to most appropriate service for their needs - mental health, physical health, social needs

Develop and foster relationships with NHS and non-NHS health and social care services

Observe current health and safety working practices

Effectively use supervision to continually inform current practice

Keep up to date with continuous professional development (CPD) as outlined in NMC code of practice

Adhere to code of conduct and standards of proficiency as outlined by regulatory bodies

Conduct clinical audits, routine outcome monitoring and reporting to inform evidence-based practice and service development changes

To lead on and implement service delivery changes supported by the Clinical Lead where necessary

To work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Maintain high standards of clinical record keeping

Adherence to clinical governance frame works set out by the Service Lead

To work in collaboration with the Service Lead to ensure the service is effective, safe and accessible to service users

Main duties of the job

To participate in the recruitment of nursing staff to the service in accordance with good employment practice.

Support junior nurses in understanding their individual roles and responsibilities in achieving the 'CNWL Trust', Health and Justice Service' and HMP Woodhill.

Demonstrate best practice standards through delivery of high-quality clinical services and support other team members in achieving the same

To work with the clinical services manager in at HMP Woodhill to deliver a range of specialist treatments for patients, which include treatment matching, health education, group work, one to one counselling and the management of self-harm.

To provide specialist clinical advice and support to other colleagues within the team.

To ensure in conjunction with the clinical staff that controlled drugs are:

o prescribed legally and safely in accordance with national guidance, legislation and CNWL Trust Policies.

o Adequately monitored to ensure effective audit trails for ordering, storage, supply, administration and destruction.

To maintain prescription records accurately and consistently with best practice guidelines.

To be fully conversant with national guidelines in relation to prison healthcare.

To provide clinical supervision and mentorship to nursing colleagues.

The post holder will be expected to work Monday to Friday 08:00hrs till 16:00hrs
