Full Job Description
To perform comprehensive assessments of and develop treatment plans for adults with diagnosed or suspected ADHD under clinical supervision of a consultant psychiatrist and/or associate specialist. To initiate and monitor the pharmacological treatment with ADHD medication (as non-medical independent prescriber). To provide information, education and support for service users and their carers re coping with diagnosis and treatments. To provide clinical leadership to the Adult ADHD team in the care, treatment, and therapy of the client group, with a clear focus on clinical risk and its management. To perform regular caseload and waiting list reviews on RiO and provide operational management for the admin team. To interpret national guidelines and relevant research to inform local practice and procedures to achieve best practice. To maintain own expert status by developing training and improvement projects underpinned by research and legislation. To take part in and facilitate audits relevant to patient care.,
- Triaging of referrals
- Perform comprehensive assessments of adults with previously diagnosed and suspected ADHD
- Identify and manage risk, comorbid conditions and to signpost appropriately
- Formulate treatment plans.
- Initiate titrate and monitor effects of ADHD medication including physical effects.
- Provide psycho-education about ADHD in adults and co-morbid conditions
- Liaise with GPs, NHS and non-NHS services.
