Are you a passionate and experienced mental health professional looking for a challenging and rewarding role? We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) to join our innovative and forward-thinking CYPMH Multi-Agency Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals, providing exceptional care to young people with complex mental health needs. What you'll be doing :
- Clinical Practice : Assessing, diagnosing, and managing a diverse range of mental health conditions in young people.
- Prescribing : Independently prescribing medications within your scope of practice, ensuring safe and effective treatment.
- Collaboration : Working closely with colleagues in Specialist Eating Disorder Services and First Episode Psychosis teams to provide seamless care.
- Supervision and Mentorship : Supporting, supervising, and mentoring junior staff members, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Training and Development : Actively participating in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Service Improvement : Contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of our services., Conduct comprehensive medication reviews and prescribe appropriate treatments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised care plans.
- Provide supervision and mentoring to junior staff, fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Participate in complex case discussions, offering expert insights and recommendations.

- Registered healthcare professional with NMP qualification.
- Extensive experience in psychiatric care and medication management.
- Strong clinical decision-making skills and ability to work autonomously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills., Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN Qualification)
- Nurse Prescribing Qualification
- Evidence of ongoing training and development Desirable
- Post-graduate training in mental health
- Management certificate / qualification
- ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) or equivalent Experience Essential
- Experience of clinical work within mental health
- Substantial experience at band 6 or above
- Working on own initiatives and as part of a team
- Staff management and supervision Desirable
- Some experience as working as a nurse prescriber
- Organisation and delivery of education and training
- Experience of clinical work within Older Adults Knowledge Essential
- Understanding of issues relating to medication management, recognition of influences of local and national guidance
- Understanding of interventions for mental health and models of good practice
- Understanding of clinical governance in relation to service delivery
- Effective written and oral communication and liaison skills
- Effective organisation and management skills Desirable
- Knowledge and understanding of the framework in which NHS and Social Services Operate
- Presentation skills / ability to deliver training
- Understanding of performance management and ability to develop monitoring systems
