Full Job Description

Sandwell Council is looking for a Notice Processing and Appeals Officer to join our dynamic parking team and contribute to our mission of excellence and integrity, this position is office based. We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Notice Processing and Appeals Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the processing of notices and handling appeals with efficiency and accuracy. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to upholding our standards.,

  • Process and review notices for compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Handle appeals in a fair, transparent, and timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of all notices and appeals processed.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including issuing authorities, appellants, and internal departments.
  • Provide clear and concise explanations regarding decisions and processes to appellants.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to notice processing and appeals.
  • Stay updated with changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the notice processing and appeals function.

    Significant working experience in the services relevant to this post specifically significant parking legislation experience.
  • Dealing with customers, clients and partners and dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Experience of working within budgets or financial management.
  • Have experience of using Technical IT systems, including parking systems - Chipside, DVLA
  • Experience of working on own initiative with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to produce complex reports for cabinet reports, press, chief officers and FOI, Proven experience in notice processing, appeals, or a related administrative role.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using office software, including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations is an advantage.
  • Strong ethical standards and commitment to fairness and transparency.
  • Education
  • Relevant Parking qualifications including on street and conflict Management
  • Must hold a full valid driving licence
