Full Job Description

Nottingham City Council is seeking an experienced Team Manager to lead the Duty and Assessment Team. In this role, you will manage a team of qualified social workers, ensuring that services are delivered effectively to safeguard vulnerable children and promote positive outcomes. The role requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to meeting local and national performance indicators,

  • Lead and manage a team of qualified social workers, overseeing the delivery of services to children in need and those in need of protection.
  • Ensure the team operates within legislative frameworks, statutory planning, and the City Council's values and policies.
  • Manage the team's overall workload, ensuring that targets and standards are met, and that services are delivered effectively and efficiently.
  • Use management information systems and IT tools to monitor performance, conduct case audits, and ensure compliance with local and national performance indicators.
  • Provide regular supervision and support to team members, promoting professional development and ensuring high standards of practice.
  • Collaborate with other professionals and services to promote positive outcomes for vulnerable children and their families.

    Qualified and registered Social Worker with significant experience in managing teams within children's services.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures, child protection, and relevant legislation.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience in managing workloads, performance, and service delivery.
  • Ability to use information technology to monitor performance, conduct case audits, and improve service outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage complex caseloads and achieve service targets.

    Pay Rate: £41 per hour (umbrella), depending on experience.
