Full Job Description

This role has responsibility for supporting the Domestic Homicide Review (DHR) process within the Interpersonal Abuse Unit. The Home Office receives DHRs from Community Safety Partnerships (CSPs) and has responsibility for ensuring that these are reviewed by at Quality Assurance (QA) Panel on a monthly basis . The Home Office then writes to the CSPs who have submitted the reports, outlining the feedback provided by the QA Panel. Organisational skills will be needed to ensure the process is run efficiently. The role includes a significant amount of drafting, so good drafting skills and attention to detail are key. The role also requires regular stakeholder engagement and the post holder will have responsibility for responding to queries submitted to the busy DHR inbox. Importantly, this role requires reading DHRs on a regular basis and responding to queries which can be distressing given the subject matter area. DHRs are professional reports but contain distressing information about a homicides and suicides. The post member will be required to read out summaries of the cases at the monthly QA Panel. Key responsibilities include

  • Supporting the organisation of the monthly DHR independent QA Panel meetings, providing briefing and secretariat functions, as well as participating in the meetings by providing a summary of each case.
  • Drafting feedback letters after Panel meetings to be sent to CSPs.
  • Liaising with CSPs on the progress of their DHRs and providing advice on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Supporting the management of DHR enquires mailbox, responding to all emails in a timely manner.
  • Uploading DHRs for upload to the online library.
  • Maintaining a system to track the progress of DHRs.
  • The post holder may be expected to travel on an ad-hoc basis to attend meetings and stakeholder engagements. The cost associated with any travel will be met by the business area in line with HO policy. Working pattern Due to the business requirements of this role, it is only available on a full-time basis. However, job-share and compressed hours are available. Person specification
