The Nuclear Medicine Department at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn, has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven individual, with the vision to Lead a specialist team of staff in the Departments newly installed GE SPECT CT unit - Due to open September 2024

  • Ensure that you work to the Local Rules disseminated by the department management team.


  • Operate SPECT, SPECT/CT imaging and radiation detection equipment to obtain diagnostic images and information. In doing so, ensures the patient is properly prepared. Positions and immobilises patient as needed. Selects proper imaging and data processing techniques.


  • The Lead will be required to perform Computed Tomography Imaging (attenuation correction and diagnostic CT) as ordered in conjunction with SPECT


  • Maintain a CPD programme at post-graduate level.


  • Advise and assist junior radiographers to maintain appropriate professional standards.


  • Respond to periodic review of good practice through the department system. (Clinical Audit)


  • Stand in for the Deputy Service Manager when delegated.


  • As an Autonomous Practitioner, be accountable for own professional actions working independently.


  • Based on experience, use skills to assess a patient's condition, often acute, and decide on an appropriate method to obtain the required images to facilitate the patient care plan.
