Full Job Description

The clerical officer will work as a member of a team providing a high-quality nuclear medicine service to patients referred by medical practitioners within the NHS Trusts in Dorset. This person will often be the first contact point for the Nuclear Medicine Department queries and will be required to deal with enquiries from external contacts, NHS staff and patients. The post requires the ability to prioritise the various demands and to work for considerable periods without direct supervision.

The post holder will need to become familiar with the range of specialist services provided by Nuclear Medicine.

Main duties of the job

Provide reception cover and administrative and organisational support to the Nuclear Medicine Department.

Act as a link between the Departments, patients and staff to provide information and advice pertaining to nuclear medicine procedures and activity.

To schedule diagnostic and therapy procedures for patients, with a variety of clinical conditions who will be referred for nuclear medicine investigations and treatments and to maintain associated statutory records.

Receive PET requests from Hospitals across Dorset, send onto Alliance Medical and liaise with Alliance Medical with any queries relating to the PET service.
