Full Job Description

Adult Learning Wales has a fantastic opportunity for highly skilled, qualified tutors to deliver Numeracy courses to learners across the Newport area through the Multiply project. To plan, develop, deliver, evaluate and assess courses and learning programmes in accordance with learner needs and Adult Learning Wales's Quality procedures, in support of delivering high quality learning. The postholder will need to hold a Level 3 Essential Skills Numeracy Practitioner qualification. The ability to teach numeracy contextually would be an advantage.

The Tutor role is a diverse, hands on role where you be working independently and also with the regional team.

You will have responsibility for (but not exhaustive to):

Planning and preparing courses - preparing lesson plans and schemes of work. Selecting learning materials and a range of learning methods to meet the learner's needs.

Supporting learners - Assessing learners' previous learning experiences and achievements, providing them with appropriate advice and guidance, and ensuring learners are aware of their progression routes.

General - undertake administrative tasks in line with regulations for the funding of Adult Learning Wales. Attend relevant tutor meetings, quality briefings and relevant accreditation / moderation meetings.

Multiply is a government-funded project to help adults improve their numeracy skills, providing free courses to adults without a Maths GCSE at C grade or equivalent. More information can be found via Multiply in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
