Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Nurse Associate with Team Leader responsibilities to join our team. The successful candidate will oversee the daily operations, ensuring high-quality care and clinical oversight for our client with a high-level spinal cord injury. This role involves leading and training a team of healthcare assistants, developing and implementing individualised care plans, and fostering a compassionate and positive environment. Must hold a full UK driving licence.

  • Your role will involve working with a client who lives an independent life in his own adapted home. He enjoys going out into the community to attend various sporting events, he also enjoys shopping and spending time with his family.,
  • Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring services meet required standards.
  • Individual Support: Provide personalised support to the client
  • Team Leadership: Lead, train, mentor, and support a team of complex healthcare assistants.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other professionals and stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to care.
  • Clinical Oversight: Taking direction from the Nurse Manager in ensuring clinical practices are followed, providing guidance and support on medical and health-related issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Encourage ongoing learning and development within the team.

    The ideal candidate will need to possess a blend of clinical skills, personal qualities, and professional attributes to provide effective and compassionate care, these include:
  • Comprehensive Understanding of SCI: Knowledge of the anatomy, physiology, and complications associated with spinal cord injuries.
  • Assessment and Monitoring: Ability to assess and monitor clients for changes in their condition, including signs of autonomic dysreflexia, pressure ulcers, and respiratory issues.
  • Empathy and Compassion: Understanding the emotional and psychological impact of SCI on clients and their families, and providing support and encouragement
  • Patience and Resilience: Ability to handle challenging situations and provide consistent care over long periods
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
  • Team Collaboration: Working effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and social workers.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of clients and the dynamic nature of community healthcare.
  • Education and Advocacy: Educating clients and their families about SCI management and advocating for their needs within the healthcare system.
  • You will have management responsibilities, overseeing rota management, conducting staff one-to-ones, and liaising with professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.,
  • Experience/knowledge working in a similar field
