Full Job Description
We are seeking to recruit a fully trained dynamic Nurse Associate to join us on the Medical Assessment Unit (MAU) at The Great Western Hospital.
The position is for a full-time or part-time post to work on MAU as part of the clinical team. You will be working alongside our dedicated, highly skilled nursing team and need to demonstrate excellent standards of care to our service users. The candidate will be required to aid the smooth daily running of our busy unit while maintaining a positive and enthusiastic attitude. We require a compassionate and enthusiastic individual to work alongside a multidisciplinary team who are committed to ensuring the best possible care for patients at the start of their journey in hospital.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a new and improved department within the field of Acute Medicine- the Medical Assessment Unit (MAU) . We work closely with the Emergency Department and Site Team, as well as the other wards and departments across the organisation, and are responsible for assessing medical patients to either give same day emergency care, or to initiate treatment whilst waiting for admission.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent patient care skills under the direction of a registered general nurse. Practice excellent communication skills providing empathetic care to a variety of patients and their needs.
We are looking for someone who really wants to make a difference to our patient's experience., All patients are assessed, triaged and reviewed by the Acute Medical team before either being discharged or transferred to an appropriate inpatient area. As a Nurse Associate in MAU, you would be seeing patients at their point of arrival and carrying out their initial assessment and triage, whilst waiting for the medical team to review. During this process you would be working closely with the Advanced Clinical Practitioners in MAU. We work closely with multiple teams offering a vast learning experience.
