Barrow Together PCN have a fantastic opportunity for a Women's Health Nurse Associate to join our team, we are looking for a Registered Nursing Associate to work as part of our Nursing team. This involves assisting in the delivery of a high standard of care to patients attending for Sexual, reproductive and HIV health care. The ideal candidate will already have knowledge of Women's Health and sexually transmitted infections. The role will involve face to face interactions with patients alongside the nursing team. The working hours will be predominantly out of hours, evenings and weekends. As this specialised service develops there may be the scope to expand to other services.,

  • The Role of the Nursing Associate is to be responsible for delivering high quality, patient centred, compassionate care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, or other registered healthcare professional for patients attending for sexual, reproductive and HIV health care. With a focus on promoting health.
  • The role encompasses clinical duties including direct patient care and having the ability to work without direct supervision, at times delivering care independently in line with the individuals care plan.
  • Be an accountable professional, working within the parameters of the Nurse Associate role ,as per NMC guidance, and your scope of competence, accessing clinical and care advice as needed.
  • Carry out specific clinical and care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency, under the direction of a registered nurse or other registered healthcare professional, dependent on the setting. Have proficient attitudes and behaviours compatible with NHS values.
  • Contribute to the planning of care delivery in association with the Registered Nurse.
  • Contribute to on-going assessments recognising when it is necessary to refer to others for reassessment and action.
  • Demonstrate the ability to recognise the deteriorating patient or other situations that require escalation to the appropriate professional for expert help and advice.
  • Implement and evaluate individual care / treatment plans.
