We are delighted to offer this exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Nurse to join the nursing team on Ward H7.

Ward H7 is a 22 bedded Neurosurgical ward which takes elective neurosurgical patients, with 8 beds for enhanced care.

Our vision is to deliver care of the highest quality whilst shaping and developing our highly motivated workforce., The post holder is responsible for the assessment of patient care needs and development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, both for a specific group of patients as the named care provider and in supporting the care of all patients.

As a Band 6 Nurse you will assist in the management and organisation of work as required, ensuring effective communication is maintained at all times, providing support for junior staff. You will play a key role in the supervision and assessment of all learners and unregistered staff, providing a teaching role and acting as a named supervisor.

Using your clinical experience and skills you will be responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of programmes of care, both for a specific group of patients as the named care provider and in supporting the care of all patients on the ward / unit.

You will assist in the management and organisation of work, as required, ensuring effective communication is maintained at all times and will provide support for junior staff on the ward (newly qualified staff will receive initial support.

Previous experience working in the field of Neurosciences/enhanced care competency is desirable but not essential. Education and development will be available to all successful candidates with opportunity to progress and develop skills.

The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work in our enhanced care area of the ward nursing complex patients post neurosurgery.

As a deputy to the Ward Manager you must be able to deliver the same standards of care and support the team and maintain standards. You should also be politically aware, be able to create vision for the team, and influence change in the clinical area.

The role is pressured at times, and you will need to be proactive and be able to work with or without direction.
