Full Job Description

To Work at an enhanced level as an independent nurse practitioner under the supervision of senior medical and surgical colleagues. To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of professional activity. To work autonomously using expert clinical skills extended beyond the scope of nursing to provide assessment, diagnosis treatment and discharge of patients within the specialty. To provide highly specialist expertise and knowledge in the management of patients within the relevant service in collaboration with other health care colleagues. To support and advise junior medical staff, nurses and others in respect of patient care To be pivotal in review and development of the service, and to reflect the needs of the patient group. To support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate NNUHs PRIDE values of People

Provide direct patient care and support in helping improve quality of life by educating the patient on the management and control of symptoms and offering support following diagnosis. Provide and promote a high standard of professional care at all times whilst upholding and influencing professional and Trust values. Develop, implement and evaluate care packages for Orthopaedic patients in inpatient, outpatient and pre-operative assessment settings.Covering weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis
