Nursery Assistant

The New Barnet Day Nursery & Preschool who are part of the Family First Group have an exciting opportunity to join their team as a Nursery Assistant in the baby room. Within this role you the team in providing the highest standard of compliance, care and education for children, and effectively manage daily operations of the nursery, including positive partnerships with staff and parents. We are open from 7.30am - 18:30pm and we would require you to be able to work varied shift patterns between those times, 40 hours per week. We're a family by name, and we're a family by nature too. We are: Defined by Family Nursery Assistant main responsibilities include:

• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent and visitor at all times
• Understand the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS and staff:child ratios
• Provide engaging and purposeful experiences, environments and resources to children, that are appropriate to their age and stage of development
• Facilitate a strong key person approach to enable children to form secure attachments and cover all children daily when colleagues are absent
• Observe and support children's development, update the EyLog system and children's learning journals with accuracy and relevance, and seek guidance from colleagues or Room Leader if in doubt
• Provide the all-around daily needs of children, including their physical, intellectual, social and emotional development

  Hours 40 hours a week or 36 hours over 4 days , 40 hours over 4 days or 5 days 40 hours
