Full Job Description

  • Supporting Nursery and Deputy managers to ensure that safeguarding procedures are followed in line with local authority and
    • Goodwin procedures
  • Maintaining confidentiality of information obtained regarding children, families and other staff, which is learned as part of
    • the job role.
  • Writing appropriate menu's, with support from the nursery team, parents and children, that
    • are appealing to children ensuring a healthy nutritional balanced multi-cultural diet.
  • Having an understanding of different dietary requirements for children aged 6 months to 5
    • years and to alter menus accordingly.
  • Having an awareness of allergies and dietary needs or be willing to train towards this.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and healthy kitchen environment in accordance with Environmental health and legislation.
  • Maintaining accurate records regarding temperature controls etc.
  • Ensuring all Health and Safety Policies and procedures are followed on a daily basis and are
    • in line with Environmental Health guidelines.

  • Have a food safety level 2 qualification.
  • Have knowledge and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of
    • children and young people and vulnerable adults.
  • Have knowledge of dietary requirements and allergies.
  • Have experience working within an Early Years Setting, working towards all policies and procedures.
  • Have experience of environmental health inspections.
