Full Job Description

Due to internal progession Just Imagine Day Nursery Colchester is seeking a Deputy Manager to join the team. This role is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned room leader or third in charge ready to advance into a Deputy Manager position, or for an experienced Deputy Manager looking for a new challenge. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Nursery Manager to oversee daily operations and maintain the quality of the setting. You'll be responsible for ensuring high-quality activities and providing outstanding care for the children. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to making a positive impact every day. About Our Nursery We are very proud to be rated OUTSTANDING by Ofsted A Recipient of NMT Community Nursery of the Year Award A beautiful converted house that offers a familiar home from home environment at the heart of our community With the capacity for 37 children across 3 welcoming rooms. Children's emotional well-being is given unquestionable priority. (Ofsted) Our nursery is open from 7:00am - 18:00pm and we would require you to be able to work varied shift patterns between those times. Within this role, you will:

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent, and visitor at all times.
  • Understand and ensure that the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS are met throughout the nursery.
  • Assist in managing the acceptance and administration of medication and ensure care plans are thorough and up to date for children or staff with health conditions.
  • Ensure that all children receive stimulating and purposeful experiences, environments and resources that are appropriate to their age and stage of development.
  • Promote respect and credibility for this position through effective communication skills, impartiality, and consistency.
  • Inspire staff team with creative ideas and new challenges with aim to achieve outstanding practice.
  • Maintain accurate records and accounts relating to children and staff on EyMan system and on file.
  • Undertake any other duties to ensure the smooth running of the nursery and safety and wellbeing of children, staff, and families.

    Full and relevant Level 3 in Childcare qualification - Essential
  • Leadership experience - Essential
  • Over 1 years' experience of working in Early Years - Essential
  • Sound knowledge of the statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - Essential
  • Over 1 years' experience of working in a management position - Desirable.
  • Level 5 qualification in Childcare and/or Management and Leadership - Desirable
  • Experience of successfully passing an Ofsted inspection to good or outstanding - Desirable
