Nursery Nurse

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Nursery Nurse or Play Specialist to join the Paediatric Cardiothoracic Team to cover a 12 month maternity post. The successful candidate will be based on the Paediatric Cardiology ward, which incorporates a 6 bedded high dependency unit, and will provide care to children from birth to 18 years of age with a range of medical and surgical needs including mechanical support. They will also cover the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit if required.

You will work alongside a Play Specialist and Nursery Nurse and manage your own workload. The play team provide play programmes to long term patients, support children during difficult procedures by using distraction therapy, and overall ensure their stay is as fun and relaxed as possible. This is an exciting speciality with many opportunities to gain and develop new skills and experience.
