Full Job Description
Noddy's Nursery School (Beaumont Road) provides early years care and education for babies and children, in a purpose-built, state of the art facility. Located in the grounds of Holy Trinity Church, the setting offers a light, spacious, home from home environment thanks to the extensive use of glass and painted wood throughout the building.
The nursery school is separated into designated baby rooms and main school classrooms. The three baby rooms have changing facilities and a sleeping area for the youngest children in the nursery's care, as well as a shared milk kitchen. The three main school classrooms each have an en-suite bathroom and changing facilities, where potty training is supported.
The nursery encourages children to foster an enthusiasm for learning by providing a supportive atmosphere in conjunction with a varied and stimulating timetable. Small group sizes allow staff to deliver focused care and attention so that each child can reach their full potential. Play and learning activities at Noddy's follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Staff at the nursery hold various qualifications and receive continuous in-house training to ensure that their knowledge and experience is up-to-date and in line with the EYFS. Children are assigned a key carer who closely follows their progress at the nursery and meets with parents on a regular basis to discuss their child's development and learning journey.
The main responsibilities of this job role will include:
Working towards Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship.
Supporting the development of the childcare provision.
Providing an excellent range of activities that ensures that the child learns whilst having fun.
Being a team player.
Providing challenging and stimulating activities for all children
Taking part in First Aid training as required
Working with teams across the nursery setting
Supporting children's learning and development.
Preparing and maintaining the environment and resources for the children. Preparation of food for breakfast, snack and afternoon tea.
Supporting children's self-help needs.
Being creative and enthusiastic.
Following Safeguarding rules and regulations to also meet the Standard of the Childcare Apprenticeship.
In addition to on-the-job training, you will receive support from an assessor and mentor throughout your apprenticeship, and your classroom days will be based online.
