Full Job Description

Playmania Pre-school and Nursery is a brand new nursery opening in Handsworth, S13 for 3-5 year olds. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Room Leader to join our team in this exciting time.

As the Room Leader you will work alongside the Management team to ensure the day-to-day management of the nursery, enforce and evaluate the implementation of the curriculum, as well as working with the staff team to ensure everyone is held to a high standard and the nursery remains a safe and nurturing environment for staff and children alike.

This role is unlike other management roles and is very hands on. All our managers work in the classroom with designated non-contact time for all additional responsibilities planned into the week, so your workload is manageable and you are supported. As well as this all our team will be given designated PPA time every week for planning lessons in their area/s of development.

Playmania is approaching the curriculum from a unique standpoint. Our nursery is not run on hierarchy and all our staff heads have an area of development to allow for solid teamwork, creativity and support. We believe that every child provides new opportunities for growth and learning and therefore want all our staff to continue to grow in their development by being hands on in the classroom and really knowing the children in our care.

Additionally, the implementation of our two-way behaviour management policy is unique to education settings - providing children and staff alike the unique opportunity to learn from each other and allow room for mistakes and improvements in your development.

The candidate must have a deep understanding of the Early Years Framework, Goals and Areas of Development and a real passion for giving children the best start in life.

You will work 7:30am-6:30pm 3 days a week with the possibility of a 7am start occasionally.

This job is salaried at an average of 36 hours a week to meet the needs of the business. Included within this time is all parents evenings, meetings, trainings, extra curriculum activities and performances.

You will be entitled to all bank holidays off and 4 weeks of pre-specified annual leave per annum. As well as one-week flexible leave.
