As the tertiary centre for paediatrics in the South West and South Wales, the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children provides specialist care for children from across the region. Within our ambulatory services, you'll have the chance to work in various locations, including:

  • Carousel, Rainforest and Fairground Outpatients, and Puzzle Wood (based at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children)
  • Seashore (located at Weston General Hospital)
  • Clinics at St Michael's Hospital and South Bristol Hospital
  • This role offers a unique opportunity to develop your skills while experiencing a variety of clinical settings. Why Join Us? We understand that your Nursing Associate training equips you to care for patients across their lifespan. However, we also recognise that your experience with paediatric care may be limited. That's why we provide a comprehensive induction and bespoke training to help you build confidence in caring for children and their families. You'll learn how to meet their unique needs, taking into account their age, developmental stage, and social and health circumstances., The Ambulatory Team provides care across multiple specialities, giving you the chance to expand your skills in a variety of dynamic environments. Some samples of what we offer:
  • Puzzle Wood is a small but versatile team supporting follow-up appointments, rapid access clinics, and "hot" clinics. It also manages six beds that accommodate therapies such as gastroenterology and rheumatology infusions, endocrine and metabolic tests, and food challenges.
  • Carousel and Fairground see a high volume of patients from a wide variety of specialities, including general medicine, dermatology, respiratory, cardiology, and trauma and orthopaedics.
  • Rainforest specialises in burns and plastics but also cares for patients with spinal, neuromuscular, and neurosurgical conditions., children, young people and vulnerable adults.
