Nursing - Gynaecology and Fertility Matron

An exciting career opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Nurse secondment for 12 months, who wishes to make a difference to the patient safety and quality agenda, fulfilling the role of the Gynaecology and Fertility Matron

The post holder will be responsible for working with the teams across Gynaecology and Fertility Services with an aim that all of our patients receive gold standard care, that their patient experience is positive and that the quality and safety of their care is paramount.

Main duties of the job

Providing senior professional nurse leadership, the post holder is accountable for the patient experience and the delivery of high-quality services within designated gynaecology and fertility departments, wards and the related areas of the Women's and Children's division.

Main duties include;

Budgetary oversight

Service Improvement

Safe staffing and skill mix

Promote the patient safety agenda and the right culture for learning and service change

To promote infection prevention measures

To ensure timely and safe recruitment, with a focus on retention

To promote the governance agenda and be an active participant in the driving force of the governance framework

To support and empower service leads whilst maintaining oversight
