Nursing Home Chef

As a Nursing Home Chef will be responsible for creating nutritious and delicious meals for residents while adhering to dietary restrictions and various food allergies. The ideal candidate should have a passion for cooking and a compassionate approach to serving the elderly.,

• Plan and prepare well-balanced meals for residents according to prescribed menus and dietary requirements


• Ensure that all meals are prepared in a safe and hygienic manner, following proper food handling and storage procedures


• Accommodate residents with special dietary needs, such as low-sodium, low-sugar, and pureed diets


• Coordinate with the dietary staff to ensure efficient meal service and timely delivery


• Maintain kitchen inventory and order supplies as needed


• Assist in menu planning and development in accordance with seasonal and budgetary considerations


• Uphold high standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area


• Collaborate with the culinary team to maintain a positive and inclusive work environment
  
  Proven experience as a chef or cook, preferably in a healthcare setting


• Level 2 or above in Catering/Food preparation (or equivalent)


• Understanding of nutrition and special dietary needs, particularly for elderly individuals


• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations


• Strong organizational and communication skills


• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team


• Certification in food safety and sanitation
