Full Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced teacher to join our Nurture Hub, a key part of our Locality Nurture Resource Provision (LNRP). This role is perfect for someone passionate about supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, enabling them to thrive in a nurturing, inclusive environment. As part of a dedicated team, you will work closely with students to remove barriers to learning and provide them with the tools to succeed academically and emotionally. The role involves creating a safe, supportive space for students while embedding nurturing approaches, such as trauma-informed and restorative practices. The role will be delivering subjects across the curriculum, with a key focus on literacy skills.
The successful candidate will have or be willing to work towards the National Nurturing Schools Programme qualification and should demonstrate a strong commitment to fostering a relational approach. This will be fully supported by the school. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on vulnerable children's lives, helping them re-engage with learning and school life.
This role is for an initial 5 year period, linked to this role being supported by external funding.
Esher High School is an excellent, high performing School and is proud to be part of Enlighten Learning Trust (ELT). We aim to equip our students with the skills to grow into confident, ambitious and responsible citizens ready to face the challenges of the adult world. Our staff are passionate about seeing young people succeed in their subject.
Why work for us?
We work hard to make all staff feel like they belong and can flourish. We create a bespoke induction plan for all new staff, shaped with their input based on their experience, strengths and aims. All teachers get an additional hour every fortnight of protected PPA, totalling 6 hours for a full time teacher. We have a culture of 1% improvements, which means no hour long lesson observations and time wasted producing unnecessary paperwork. All staff love our 2 week October half term, have access to free gym use (with shower facilities), ample on site parking, an up to date 2 in 1 laptop (tablet with pen and laptop all in one), a full Microsoft Office package and a vibrant and social staff body.
