Full Job Description

You will provide specialist clinical care, support and advice for patients requiring both enteral and parenteral nutrition support; advanced knowledge and skills on feeding device insertion techniques and methods of administration, to include liaising with and referring on to other healthcare professionals as required; as well as being a resource to all disciplines on matters pertaining to nutrition, this includes activities such as clinical triage of PEG referrals, audit, training and education, quality and risk management., 1. Establish and maintain effective communication with patient/carers and families about complex matters providing a warm welcoming and enabling environment to support therapeutic relationships2. Develop specialist knowledge, in area of practise, underpinned by theory3. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care and adjust the programmes of care where indicated along with maintaining the health, safety and security of self and others in own work area4. Contribute to the development of services5. Contribute to quality improvement6. Support patients, carers and staffs equality, diversity and rights7. Lead others in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practice8. Plan, allocate, assess and provide feedback to team members9. Maintain and support the efficient use of physical and /or financial resources10. You will practice in accordance with the professional, ethical and legal framework for nursing11. Ability to work flexibly and unsocial hours to meet
