Full Job Description
Accountable for the day to day operation of the assets maximising value from the asset. This will include the management of the delivery of the short/ medium and long term business targets. The role holder will ensure the asset is operated in a safe, efficient and sustainable manner, maximising the commercial value within legal requirements. This requires the fostering of excellent relationships with key stakeholders in the Uniper organisation, Environmental Regulator and Health and Safety Executive representatives. This role is integral to Managing the Engineering and Operational capability of the site. In this role at Connah's Quay you will be responsible for supporting the Plant Manager in daily operations of the asset and covering for the Plant Mangers periods away from site. Providing coaching and guidance to the site team to help them develop themselves, supporting the Uniper way implementation within the location. You would also help in providing an outward face of Uniper to external stakeholders. Working with the Exec Team at Connah's Quay you will define the future strategy for the asset and working with others maximise the future value options that exist. This role provides a development opportunity for the right individual that could see them take on either an O&M Manger or Assistant Plant Manager role. - Provide visible safety leadership as part of the sites Executive Leadership Team, through proactive actions and developing a continuous improving safety culture;
- Ensure the safety of anyone who may come into contact with the plant be they employees, contractors, visitors or members of the public,
- Designing future vision and strategy for the assets working with the Exec team to achieve. Ensure HSSE standards and reporting are fully compliant with Uniper standards. That plant Environmental systems and operational safety systems are effective and compliant with statutory and company requirements and that the plant operates within its environmental limits
- Supporting other functions to deliver maximum value and availability;
- Supporting the production of suitable Business and Long Term Investment plans;
- Maximise commercial value from the asset deploying effective and sustainable operational strategies and approaches
- Ensure the direct team is appropriately resourced in terms of personnel and competencies
- Act as a lead interface with the Uniper functional organisation on behalf of Connah's Quay to ensure maximum benefit is derived from our asset including running regime, unit availability, reliability, flexibility, outage planning and delivering continuous improvement and best practice sharing across the Energy Assets fleet.
- Engage and influence the relevant Management peer group to identify and optimise best practice across the fleet, including developing and delivery of portfolio wide improvement projects,
- Proactively seek an external perspective and network of contacts to ensure innovation/innovative solutions are brought into the business,
- Frequent liaison with local government and pressure groups, neighbours and charities,
- Promote and support the company's audit process to ensure maximum benefit is derived from the process using this, and every other opportunity, to improve the health, safety, welfare and operational performance of all sites.
Excellent leadership skills with ability to influence across the business from local level, contractors, peers and directors. Able to define future vision and strategy and then deliver through effective plans. - Strong motivator of both internal and external team members. Champion a strong HSSES (Health, Safety, Sustainability, Environment and Security) culture and continue to implement a zero harm tolerance.
- Strong entrepreneurial skills to explore future options for the assets
- Demonstrable experience within either an engineering or production background.
- Good technical knowledge of CCGT (Combine Cycle Gas Turbine) plant. Your qualities
