Full Job Description

As the obstetric patient safety midwife, the post holder will work with the obstetric patient safety lead to maintain and enhance the knowledge, skills and experience needed to provide quality care for women, babies and families.

The post holder will assist, co-ordinate, promote and evaluate Patient Safety processes within the directorate, including assisting with case reviews and devising appropriate action plans. Assist with the notification of MBRRACE cases and the completion of the Perinatal Mortality Review tool., The patient safety midwife assist in the day-to-day management of the datix system, emails and answering queries and participate in triage of datix in preparation for learning response panel working closely with the MDT team.

Attend the Obstetric Patient safety Learning meetings and Perinatal Mortality Review meetings and assist with writing up the chairs log and to liaise with the Legal and Patient Safety department as required.
