Full Job Description

The unit offers a two tier system for junior doctors. The successful applicant will work on the middle grade rota. The job includes nights and weekends on call. There is a regular weekend on-call and approximately three nights monthly.

This exciting job opportunity is designed for someone who has significant experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and wants to further develop their experience in a busy Obstetric & Gynaecology department, with a patient population with high acuity presentations. The job will involve managing acutely unwell patients presented in ED, Antenatal Assessment Unit and Labour Ward. There is a great opportunity to help develop the ongoing teaching programme within the department, as well as involvement in quality improvement projects., The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology are looking to recruit two Trust Grade Registrar (ST3+ level) within Obstetrics & Gynaecology to commence as soon as possible. Applicants will have at least 3 years' experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and have MRCOG part 1 or equivalent. The posts will be for one year initially with the possibility of extension for the appropriate appointee.

There are 19 full-time Consultants and other specialist colleagues working less than full time. The middle and junior grade is staffed by a variety of doctors including Associate Specialist, Specialist Registrars/StR3+, General Practice Vocational Scheme (GPVTS) trainees and foundation doctors.
