Occupational Therapist

· To use advanced skills, knowledge and understanding of the area of specialism to assist in the development of service provision and promote independence, choice and control for service users

· Carry out all duties within a quality and equalities framework based on Council policy and performance targets, professional standards and best practice.

Key Duties/Accountabilities

· Support to Occupational Therapy Assistants as required.

· Implement the Safeguarding Adults policy & procedure and manage staff through the process, including chairing complex strategy meetings.

· Manage, monitor and review care plans involving users and carers, liaising with other workers and agencies as appropriate.
Essential Experience Required

· Experience of working in a social care setting is essential.

· experience dealing with equipment and adaptations is essential.

· Experience of providing services to vulnerable adults is essential.

· Experience to carry out assessments in line with Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 and responsibilities under the 1974 Health and Safety at Work Act and instruct/advise on appropriate techniques and equipment is essential.

Essential Qualification Required:

· Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy recognised by the College of Occupational Therapists is essential.

· Having Registered with Health Professions Council is essential.
