Vacancy - Occupational Therapist

Priory School is a community maintained special school for students with complex learning needs, including autism and challenging behaviour. We have an in-house therapy team consisting of SaLT, OT, Behaviour Support, Complementary Therapy and Art Therapy. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist occupational therapy Therapy to our children and young people aged 11 to 19, working collaboratively with the school's staff to promote our core values of ambition, respect, courage, happiness, and brilliant lives. You will be involved in the development of diverse, effective and innovative approaches to supporting and developing the sensory need, independence and regulation skills of those with complex needs.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

· Recognised OT degree/qualification

· HCPC registration

· RCOT membership

· Evidence of CPD

· 2-3 years' experience of working with children with complex needs and behaviour

· Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team

· Knowledge of a range of approaches to assessment, intervention and outcomes

Salary: Starting salary equivalent to NHS Band 6 or higher depending on experience and by negotiation. Band 5 applicants will also be considered if they have relevant experience and skills.

Reporting to: Deputy Headteacher

Hours: Term Time Only plus Inset, 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday

Purpose of the Role:

· To be responsible for overseeing a caseload of students with complex needs.

· To provide evidence based occupational therapy assessment and intervention to complex students with moderate to severe learning disabilities and neurodiversity.

All students at this school have an EHCP, so experience of working with children with SEND is highly desirable.
