Full Job Description

Are you an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist with a passion for work within a mental health setting., They will lead on developing and providing effective programmes of Occupational Therapy for a specific patient group, and contribute to the overall OT service development. The role involves deputising for senior staff as required, As a senior Band 6 Occupational Therapist you will be expected to manage a clinical caseload as well as provide group and individual interventions. The hospital has excellent facilities for patients and provides a wide range of leisure, sport, craft, vocational , activities of dally living skills and educational opportunities.

You will have responsibility for being the Occupational Therapist for the male intellectual disability inpatient ward .

You will also lead on one of the pathways within the OT department.

You will work with the MDT to develop individualised patient focused risk management plans.

This role will involve providing clinical leadership for band 5 OT and other therapy staff working on the ward and overseeing the ward therapy programme.

You will be expected to supervise other occupational therapy staff and students on clinical placements. You will also have opportunities to lead on service development initiatives.

Day to day you will be supported by an occupational therapy team leader Regular clinical supervision and professional support are offered along with opportunities for professional development.
