Full Job Description

Cardiac Rehabilitation is currently delivered across 6 sites from Glenfield Hospital, Leicester General Hospital and the National Centre of Sports and Exercise Medicine (NCSEM) at Loughborough University, Aylestone, New Parks and Coalville Leisure centers.

The post will be mainly based at the Glenfield Hospital site but may involve working flexibly across all sites within the Trust and therefore a clean driving license is essential.

The role includes having responsibilities for reviewing cardiac patients, particularly for vocational rehabilitation skills following an acute event. They will work as an autonomous practitioner to provide specialist therapy assessments and develop individualised treatment programmes based on the patient's needs, using advanced clinical reasoning skills.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced senior Occupational Therapist to join the Cardiac Rehabilitation Team at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. Applicants need to have post graduate clinical experience within a relevant specialist area to the equivalent of Master degree level and previous employment as a Senior Therapist in a relevant specialist post qualified experience.

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:

high-quality care for all,

being a great place to work,

partnerships for impact, and

research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:

we are compassionate,

we are proud,

we are inclusive, and

we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
