Full Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen in the Occupational Therapy Service of Stockton Borough Council for a motivated individual who has experience of working with disabled people in their homes and in community settings as an Occupational Therapist. Stockton on Tees Borough Council has a well-established and valued Community Occupational Therapy Service. The successful candidate will work as part of an Occupational Therapy Team and an infrastructure of preventative services and deliver community-based occupational therapy assessments and interventions for adults with a wide range of disabilities. You will undertake complex functional assessments within clients' homes/other community settings, recommend adaptations and equipment, device rehabilitation plans, and complete blue badge/bus pass assessments. You will undertake moving and handling risk assessment, seating posture assessments, and navigate clients through the local infrastructure of NHS, voluntary, and independent sector services. Providing student education, supervision of therapy support staff, and contributing to service development are key parts of this role. You will be expected to work flexibly across the OT team and other preventive services of Stockton Borough Council such as Intermediate Care and First Contact. Applicants must have a degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy, be registered with the HCPC and have the ability for independent travel within the borough of Stockton.

This is a part time role, 30 hours per week and the actual salary is £26,008 - £30,992.
