Full Job Description

Occupational Therapy Assistants work with multi-disciplinary teams contributing their unique knowledge and skills, supporting service users to remain in their own home safely and avoid hospital admission Within this service you will have the opportunity to work with service users throughout the acute physical health care pathway, supporting the provision of specialist OT assessment and interventions to service users in their homes. Main duties of the job To assist the Acute Physical Health Occupational Therapist in the assessment, interventions and reviews of service users. Working for our organisation Probationary Period This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff). Starting with NELFT NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process, new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes., You will work alongside Occupational Therapists and other OT Assistants to provide a recovery focussed occupational therapy service The successful candidate with receive professional supervision from an Occupational Therapist in the Occupational Therapy Team. Relevant NVQ Qualification or equivalent, Evidence of commitment to further learning,

  • Experience of working with Occupational Therapist to provide clinical interventions
  • Experience working in acute setting
  • Experience working in community
