Full Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated Occupational Therapist to join the Social Communication Team; a specialist service for autistic children of 5 years and under. The team provides assessment, diagnosis and intervention for individual children, support for their parents, and support, training and consultation to staff across a range of providers. You will need to be passionate about autism, working in a multi-disciplinary team and able to work sensitively with very young children with additional needs and their parents., You will be responsible for the effective delivery of individualised support and care to children undergoing neurodevelopmental assessments and receiving post-diagnostic support.

You will work as part of a team of Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Clinical Psychologists and Neurodevelopmental Paediatricians. The post holder will be based primarily at the Northern Health Centre. You will receive regular supervision and receive relevant in-service and external training. The post will evolve and is subject to change as the neurodevelopmental pathway develops across North Central London (NCL).

Whittington Health serves a richly diverse population and works hard to ensure that all our services are fair and equally accessible to everyone. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the way we look after our staff. We aim to employ a workforce which is as representative as possible of this population, so we are open to the value of differences in age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation, and religion or belief. The Trust believes that as a public sector organisation we have an obligation to have recruitment, training, promotion and other formal employment policies and procedures that are sensitive to these differences. We think that by doing so, we are better able to treat our patients as well as being a better place to work.
