We are recruiting to our popular and varied band 5 Occupational Therapy Rotation - This is a permanent position, but may also have some fixed term roles. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience and develop skills and knowledge, in a supportive environment. The rotation gives experience of work in the following clinical specialities, Rotations cover our 3 hospital sites (Pinderfields, Pontefract and Dewsbury) and community settings. This post will give opportunity to gain experience in the following areas.

  • Trauma / Orthopaedics / Amputees
  • Elderly complex care
  • Respiratory
  • Surgery
  • Intermediate care MY Therapy Team
  • Spinal injuries
  • A & E / acute assessment and frailty
  • Hand Therapy
  • Neurology
  • Burns
  • Children's Therapy
  • The services cover 7 days, a flexible approach is required to meet the challenges in each clinical speciality where you would be assigned to an experienced clinical practitioner for regular supervision and support as well as working within experienced and well-established teams. We offer preceptorship support throughout your first year of practice., To undertake Occupational Therapy assessments for a designated acute caseload. To understand and apply the Occupational Therapy process in order to effectively self-manage a designated caseload within a rotational area, addressing occupational performance and skill deficits, enabling the patient in components of self-care, productivity and leisure. To be responsible for the organisation, implementation, and evaluation of assessments to facilitate safe and timely discharge of individuals. To develop skills and knowledge through participation in the diverse rotational scheme, working within inpatients, outpatients and community settings.
