  • The post-holder will act as an autonomous practitioner, providing highly specialist Occupational Therapy (OT) assessment and management of adult patients who are on the Supportive & Palliative Care inpatient caseload based at Weston General Hospital with the support and mentoring of senior colleagues.
  • The post-holder will be a member of the multidisciplinary Supportive & Palliative Care Team (SPCT), co-located with the team based at Weston General Hospital.
  • The post-holder will act as a highly specialised source of expertise on the management of patients with specialist palliative care needs within the Trust.
  • They will undertake a clinical leadership role, in planning, coordinating, and delivering the therapy service provided to patients on a day-to-day basis.
  • They will contribute to the development of this pilot service for patients with specialist palliative care needs gathering data to support the sustainable funding of this service.
  • This will include making recommendations for change. They will be required to advise, share experience with and guide less experienced colleagues, non-registered staff and students in the care of patients with specialist palliative care needs.
