Full Job Description

Our St Helens Mental Health Recovery & Psychology Team are looking to recruit a band 5 Occupational Therapist full time on a permanent contract. We are a supportive, well-resourced and dedicated team and there will be opportunities for professional development within the role.

You will work as part of our large multidisciplinary team completing occupational therapy assessments and support with patient groups. A full induction and training will be provided to the right candidate.

This post is subject to an enhanced check with adult's barred list Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check.

As a community based practitioner you will work with some autonomy. Support and supervision will be provided by the team and Occupational Therapy colleagues as required.

Your main role will be completing OT assessments and supporting/supervising staff in delivering patient therapy groups.

As an integral part of the wider team there will be a requirement to complete some generic mental health assessments and interventions.

The post holder will work within an integrated team to ensure continuity of care for service users on their journey through services. The post holder will work from within the community environment but be expected to be flexible in terms of delivering care within a variety of settings.

Flexible working requests will be considered for all roles.

Responsibility for screening/assessments for OT based functional assessments/specialist assessment.

Responsibility for developing and supporting patient therapy groups.

To work as part of the wider MDT to ensure the highest standard of care is given to our patient cohort.

To complete mental health assessments/reviews as necessary.

To complete assessment of risks that may be presented to/posed by our patient cohort and plan for care accordingly.

To ensure that safeguarding is considered as part of the daily role.
