Full Job Description

University Hospitals Sussex is a regional teaching hospital across several sites following recent merger of 2 large trusts.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our Band 5 rotational scheme, with a large range of specialist areas forming a comprehensive programme of six monthly rotations. These rotations are based across 3 of our sites in Brighton, Haywards Heath and Newhaven. .

You will work in a Team based structure with senior OT leads, but you will also be an integral part of the speciality MDT working closely with Physiotherapists to provide an integrated approach to rehabilitation and discharge.

We offer awide range of rotations including: Stroke Unit, Neuro-surgery, Sub-acute inpatient Neuro-rehab, Emergency Department and Hospital Rapid Discharge, Medical, Surgical, Respiratory, Dementia, Frailty and Re-ablement in our Community Ward.

Successful applicantsforthis post will be eligible to join the Trust Allied Health Professions(AHP)preceptorshipprogramme. This programmesupportsAHPs over the course of the first year of employment,providinga modelfor learning, self-development and reflective practice through regular multi-disciplinary learning opportunities and peer support, To provide occupational therapy interventions as part of an evidence based, flexible and patient-centred approach, working within a multi-disciplinary team, to meet the health and social care needs of people who are referred to our services.

To perform an occupational therapy role for people referred to the post holder's clinical team with health and social care needs.

To provide supervision and support for relevant junior members of occupational therapy staff in conjunction with senior staff.

To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy services within a designated team.

To support the supervision and training for students on practice placement.
