Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen on the band 6 Occupational Therapy rotation at Barts Health NHS Trust. This is a rotational post, aimed at consolidating and enhancing knowledge and experience across acute rotations at The Royal London Hospital, Major Trauma Centre and St Bartholomew's Hospital, Tertiary Centre for heart and cancer care.

We are looking for a highly skilled, innovative and passionate individual to join our Band 6 Occupational Therapy team. The Royal London Hospital & St Bartholomew's Hospital Band 6 Occupational Therapy rotation involves 9-month rotations across a range of diverse areas including:

Ø Hand Therapy

Ø Neurosciences

Ø Major Trauma and Orthopaedics

Ø Stroke (HASU and ASU)

Ø Cardiac surgery and Cardiology

Ø Vascular and Amputees

Ø Oncology

Ø Gynae-oncology

Ø Acute Assessment Unit

Ø Specialist Medicine

The successful candidate will work alongside occupational therapy colleagues and work as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team to develop your clinical, leadership, teaching and service development skills whilst working within a supportive and motivated team.

We offer a robust teaching and training programme with the opportunity to complete Quality Improvement and Audit projects, we provide a supportive and engaging environment to develop and grow our therapists.

Occupational Therapists within Barts Health are expected to be part of the weekend working rota

To provide high quality occupational therapy interventions to a wide variety of patients including the advanced assessment and treatment of patients, provision of individual and group education and treatment, provision of assistive devices (orthotics) and equipment, minor structural home adaptations and provision of complex disability management and
advocacy services.
To participate in the Band 6 rotational scheme working across Royal London Hospital and St Bartholomew's Hospital, within Barts health NHS trust. This will require working in a range of ward settings and departments including Acute Assessment Unit, Stroke,
Neurosciences, Health Care of the Elderly, Rehabilitation, Oncology, Cardiorespiratory, Medicine and Surgery, Vascular and Amputees, Hands and Community stroke and Neuro.
