Full Job Description

We are seeking applications from individuals with a passion for providing rehabilitation for people with neurological conditions. You will need to demonstrate time management skills and the ability to be flexible, to be able to manage a mixed acute and rehab caseload in a busy setting. Excellent communication skills will be key, as you will be working with patients and their families in stressful and complex situations. The successful candidate will also demonstrate good interpersonal skills and be committed to team working both within OT and the wider MDT.
Applicants will be supported to develop problem solving and specialist clinical skills essential for meeting the demands of this setting. Regular supervision will be provided and a staff appraisal system is in operation. department.
We are commissioned to provide a seven day services so flexibility to work weekends will be required.

This role is part of the integrated health and social care community across Derbyshire, where there are many opportunities to work across different locations and providers developing new and different skills. Whilst this role is initially based in Chesterfield there may be future opportunities to be based at different locations within the health and social care community which we may talk to you about in the future.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Stroke and Neurology team. The post holder will work in a dedicated OT team alongside a supportive MDT, to deliver occupational therapy as part of a 7 day service. The role provides an opportunity to work across the stroke pathway; as the OT team covers hyper acute, acute and rehabilitation on the stroke unit. We also have an Early Supported Discharge team operating as an outreach service, enabling patients to continue therapy at home. The team is committed to delivering high standards of care across the whole patient pathway.
