Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team and work with us to deliver top quality care and rehabilitation to NHS patients in our Community Hospital. We are dedicated to supporting our patients with their transition through illness and injury and their hospital stay, to maximising their rehabilitation potential and enabling a safe discharge plan, usually to home.     We are looking for a motivated individual who is:
  • A team player and flexible, working with the multidisciplinary team to provide a seven-day service in our community hospital.
  • Dedicated to the provision of high quality, individualised personal rehabilitation programmes with our patients and group therapy activities.
  • Able to manage their own delegated caseload under the guidance of a qualified Occupational Therapist / Clinician
  • Able to complete basic Occupational Therapy Assessments, initial interviews, rehabilitation and OT intervention with patients, in order to increase their functional ability and independence
  • Able to carry out delegated patient related activities, such as safe discharge planning including home environment assessments and provision of equipment, whilst working within assessed competencies.
  • Able to maintain up to date patient records
  • Happy to work collaboratively within the team to meet the needs of the patients, following policy and procedure.
  • An effective and appropriate communicator who will provide guidance and leadership to junior staff and participate in multidisciplinary team and staff meetings.
