Full Job Description

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you can expect to receive supervision and support to develop the specialist skills necessary for your role. Your focus in the team will be to:

  • holistically assess service users, within their own homes, supporting them to identify solutions which may include:
  • + small or medium adaptations + standard equipment that promotes independence
  • keeping timely, evidence based clinical records to support your assessments and interventions
  • managing day to day aspects of a community clinical case load
  • make detailed onward referrals to other teams and services. For example:
  • + provision of telecare + social work, physiotherapy or other health and social care services
  • recognise and work within the scope and remit of your role, seeking support and guidance as appropriate, As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you should have a basic understanding of the OT profession. Previous experience of working within health or social care is desirable but not essential. We would encourage you to make use of the additional resources below before making an application.
