Occupational Therapy Support Worker

This occupational therapy support worker post is based in UHW in the occupational therapy team covering the medicine wards.
The post provides occupational therapy intervention and rehabilitation to individuals or groups in a busy ward environment, to enable occupational engagement and discharge home.
The technician will work with direction to assist the registered occupational therapist in clinical and administrative duties which may include documentation , screening of patients, management of equipment and providing daily occupational living skills.
The occupational therapy team are active in supporting the multi disciplinary team and patient focused care., An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of a well established occupational therapy team working in an acute setting within medicine. This interesting role has duties involved in the planning, reviewing and progression of occupational therapy treatments in line with guidelines, including manual techniques and therapeutic handling.
The post would suit someone with skills to encourage and motivate people and able to adapt their communication techniques to each situation.
