Full Job Description

This is a fantastic new opportunity at the Oxfordshire Stroke Rehabilitation Unit, for someone with experience in healthcare to work within the team as Occupational Therapy Technician. OSRU is a 20 bed inpatient ward providing person centred specialist care for people who have had an acute stroke. Our multidisciplinary team consists of occupational therapists, physiotherapists and rehabilitation assistants as well as specialist speech and language therapists, nurses, dietitians, medical staff and a clinical psychologist., This role will be fundamental to provide a high standard of clinical care for people in the service. Our Occupational Therapy teams focus on supporting our patients to recover their independence in functional tasks and their expertise is key to enable safe discharge of our patients to the community. You will get to work closely with our patient cohort and their families, supporting achievement of their rehabilitation goals, and will actively support discharge plans/equipment ordering/onward referrals under the supervision of the Occupational Therapists. Our Occupational Therapists are innovative and dynamic and there is a strong emphasis on evidence based practice. Excellent communication skills are a must for this role as you will be routinely working and collaborating with other healthcare professionals, patients and their families.
