Full Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working Outpatient Reception Supervisor. You will work with the existing Reception team who provide an efficient and effective reception service in the Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism Outpatient Department at the Churchill Hospital.

Patient administration underpins the patient journey and supports clinical teams in delivering high quality patient care and can make a real difference to the patient experience. Effective and efficient patient administration supports management through ensuring a high standard of data quality and by making the best use of capacity and resources.

The position is for 37.5 hours per week, working across 5 days Monday-Friday.

The post holder will work with, and supervise the outpatient reception team and ensure the provision of a professional, comprehensive and efficient reception and booking service for patients and members of the department. You will also provide administrative support for the Consultant and Lead podiatrists in line with the patient pathway co-ordinator role., Supervising the outpatient reception team and liaising with the Admin Manager and Service Manager. You will also be the main point of contact for all administrative queries relating to the day to day running of the reception and outpatient clinics.

You will also work closely with the clinical, nursing and podiatry teams to ensure an excellent service is provided to our patients. The post holder will supervise the planning and prioritisation of administrative functions of reception.

The post holder will work with the Team Leader, Service Manager and team leads on implementation of new systems and processes to provide an efficient administrative system.

You should have previous clerical/administrational experience, a good standard of education and IT skills. Excellent prioritisation and organisation skills are essential. Experience of managing people is desirable.
