On-Demand Bus Driver

Shropshire Council is seeking a reliable and customer-focused On-Demand Bus Driver to join our dedicated team operating in Shrewsbury. This is a part-time temporary role, offering a great opportunity to contribute to our community by providing a vital transport service.

As an On-Demand Bus Driver, you will be responsible for collecting customers who have booked onto the service and ensuring they reach their destinations safely and on time. You will be driving a variety of vehicles, including 16-seat minibuses (diesel) and, if qualified, a 16-seat electric bus., Safely operate the On-Demand bus service in Shrewsbury.
Provide excellent customer service to all passengers.
Adhere to the scheduled shift patterns and ensure timely pick-ups and drop-offs.
Conduct vehicle safety checks and report any issues promptly.
Maintain a clean and safe environment within the bus.

Shift Pattern:
This role requires flexibility to work alternating weeks:

Week One: Thursday to Saturday (Split shifts: 7am to 10am & 4pm to 7pm)
Week Two: Monday to Wednesday (Split shifts: 7am to 10am & 4pm to 7pm)

Must hold a valid D1 driving license.
PSV license is desired but not essential.
Previous bus driving experience is preferred, though full training will be provided.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work split shifts and alternate weekly schedules.
