King Edward VI College, Stourbridge is a sixth form college and a member of the Heart of Mercia Trust. As A level specialists, we provide a deep and thorough academic curriculum and help our students to develop excellent independent study skills. Just as important is our broader development curriculum, with almost 100 different clubs, groups and activities operating on a weekly basis, and excellent preparation for careers and HE. Our students come from a great variety of social and cultural backgrounds, and we take pride in supporting them to form an active and friendly community.

We require a full-time one-to-one academic support assistant to provide specialist support to a student to make best use of her educational opportunities whilst enrolled at King Edward VI College to start as soon as possible. This is a fixed term position which is due to end 31 August 2026.

The student has a hearing impairment and wears cochlear implants and requires somebody to facilitate notetaking in the lesson but also mentoring outside the lesson to help consolidate the students' understanding of the verbally delivered parts of the lesson. The postholder will also support staff to facilitate his learning and personal development.

The College is fully committed to supporting all members of staff through staff development and in-service training.

This is a fixed term, full-time, term-time only post subject to the conditions of service handbook of the Sixth Form Colleges Association. Salary will be paid on the Sixth Form Colleges Association support staff pay scale 11 - 15 which is currently £22,065.56 - £24,812.66 per annum for term-time only, based on 37 hours per week.
